In 6th grade math, students deepen their understanding of numbers, operations, and problem solving using the Indiana Academic Standards for Mathematics. Students develop fluency with ratios and rates, extend their work with fractions and decimals to include operations with rational numbers, and begin solving algebraic expressions and equations. They also explore area, surface area, and volume, analyze data using statistical measures, and apply mathematical reasoning to real-world situations.
